Apple Valley is preparing for one of the High Desert’s most recognizable fall traditions when the Apple Valley Airshow returns Saturday, October 10.

The annual event is expected to turn the sky above Apple Valley Airport into a showcase of aviation, with aerobatic performances, warbird fly-bys, skydiving and aircraft displays planned for visitors.

For families looking for something different to do after the first full week of October, the airshow offers a rare chance to experience aviation up close without leaving the Victor Valley.

The program also includes STEM-focused activities designed to connect younger visitors with aviation, engineering and technology.

A companion NAPA car show adds another attraction on the ground, giving spectators a mix of aircraft, automobiles and family entertainment in one setting.

Apple Valley Airport has long provided the community with a natural setting for an event built around the region’s deep connection to flight, military history and open desert skies.

Airshows can also bring significant visitor traffic, so residents attending should plan ahead for parking, entry lines and changing weather conditions.

The October 10 date makes the event one of the first major community attractions following Hesperia Post’s October 7 publication.

Visitors should check current event information before leaving home because schedules for live aviation performances can shift with weather and operational conditions.

The combination of aerial demonstrations, static displays, cars and educational exhibits gives the event appeal beyond dedicated aviation enthusiasts.

For High Desert residents, the airshow is ultimately a hometown event built around a spectacle that is difficult to duplicate anywhere else.
