Hesperia Community Cleanup Day Set for October 24 |
Volunteer registration remains open through October 15 for the citywide cleanup effort |

Hesperia residents have another opportunity to put some hometown pride into action when Community Cleanup Day returns Saturday, October 24.
The citywide volunteer effort is designed to bring residents, community groups and local organizations together to remove litter and improve public areas around Hesperia.
Volunteer registration is scheduled to remain open through October 15, giving residents a little more than a week after October 7 to join the effort.
Cleanup Day is simple by design: neighbors give a portion of their Saturday to make the community look better for everyone who lives, works and travels through it.
Community cleanup programs can make an immediate visual difference along roadsides, open areas and other heavily traveled parts of the city.
They also give families, civic organizations and youth groups a hands-on way to participate in local service.
The October 24 event comes at a useful time of year, when cooler fall temperatures can make outdoor volunteer work more manageable than during the peak of a High Desert summer.
Residents who plan to participate should register before the deadline and review the city’s current instructions for meeting locations, supplies and any safety requirements.
Volunteers should also dress for outdoor conditions and be prepared for changing temperatures as the morning progresses.
Hesperia Community Cleanup Day is ultimately less about one morning of litter removal than about residents taking visible ownership of the places they share.
For anyone who has driven past a problem area and wished it looked better, October 24 offers a practical opportunity to help make that change. |
